Make Up FX Demo at School of Visual Arts

Sal Petrosino was nice enough to allow me to demonstrate a few make up FX on his students this week. The class curriculum today was to light and shoot a camera test of the very scary looking subject. On Tuesday they had a zombie and on Friday a slasher victim. A fun week!

Before Prosthetics, there is Life Casting

It was now actress Vania Bezerra's turn to have her face life cast. She is just the second victim of many who are stalked by the still unknown creature in the new horror film that I have just been signed onto.

Life Casting Actress Leanne Bishop

What could be more fun than starting with a live person and turning them into a solid plaster copy of themselves? I will be created a full-face life cast of actress Leanne Bishop and lining up the next actress as well for the next horror film I will be working on.

In discussions with producer/writer/director, Bob Stock about creating the make up FX for his next feature film. Bob is a man who likes his horror films as scary as they can possibly be. Proposed shooting in December.

Meetings in LA

Had a great flight out, sat next to TV and film stunt man, Ross Clay. I had one production meeting, met up with actress, Kat Castaneda and met some old friends. The temprature was only 103, so life just keeps getting better.

Actor Frank Ridley as SANTA!

It was a happy day on a TV commercial set for me and my assistant Jackie Olszewski, as we turned the once happy actor Frank Ridley into the cranky day-after-Christmas Santa. Lace beard with additional hair pieces. Lots of fun. We also put some very big prosthetic ears on his elf assistant.

A New York City Screening of, "The Sickness"

Thanks to my friends at Latin Horror and the Anthology Film Archive, my first feature film, “The Sickness”, was screened along with a few short horror films. One short film was shot by noted New York DP, Edwin Pagan, who was at the screening. Even though my film was originally shot on MiniDV, the image held up nicely up on the big screen.

Na-vi in NYC

Been a while since my last post. No excuses, just been busy. We, myself, Kevin and Jacks, were part of the annual international celebration for “Yuris Night 2010”. All of this was in honor the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin. We took part in the creation of the Na-vi prosthetic make ups from “Avatar”. And I am told the two actor/hosts of the party (with our make ups, in full costume/leg extension stilts as well) rocked the night club till dawn.
